Hello from France!!

Hello!!!
I'm Gwen alias Stella69.
I come from France, not far from the German border.
I buy one typ3on February, 1500 of 1962, which comes from Germany.
Many restoration is a foreseeing but my husband and I have courage and time. We hope to finish it next year.
We must redo the chassis but it has already an alternative and it will do quite lean. It's worth it because in France we do not see much.
So I come to this forum in hope to find a lot of information, and why not also parts to restore even if I do almost not a word of German. I translate with a translator.

Here is my beast:

The interior is red sky, very pretty and in perfect condition. The engine works.
It lacks the headlights, a reflector (the thing that is underneath each lamp rear) and the parking lights on the wings. One of the flashing is not correct.
But otherwise, everything is now.

I would definitely take more photos soon. At the moment there is in a dark garage, but we are going to put in another order to restore it properly.

We would like to know if there are owners of Typ3 near the French-German border in the south and who speak either French or English for various information on Typ3 where that have a few parts necessary for its restoration.

We have also a Bully "Deluxe" of 1978, a Beetle painted cow of 1981 (which comes from Germany), a 411 4-doors of 1969. And every day we drive Golf II in 1992.
We love VW.

Welcome in our Forum.your type 3 looks like lot of work.The Typ4 is it a 68Ps or 80Ps.Hope to see you on our meeting in Rust 2007.From me its about 600 km how far its from you?

Hallo.
The typ4 is a 80PS, it's a 1700 injection.
I understand that the meeting of Rust 2007 is already past.
Since my home, Rust is only at 130km. I think coming in 2008.
But I do not think my typ3 is ready. I probably come with one of my three other vw air-cooled.

Hello to France and a warm welcome in our Type 3 scene .
Don`t be too shy to ask even simple things . Here`s the right place to get the best information about your car .
And if you need parts you will find some type 3 - driver here who can help you with even the smalest parts .
Nice to see another rare 1962 Type 3 !!
I live too far away from you and my french still does not exist but maybe I also can help you with parts or information.

A question: lights on the side, they are parking lights or turn signals?

Can I place an ad for a search in English? Because if I use a translator french / German translation will be incomprehensible. Thanks.

I am also in search of a part for my Bully, I can not find it in France.
I wanted to see on ebay.de but I do not know how to translate "spoiler" (small window that opens on doors) in German. None of the translations that I was successful at something.
Can you give me the translation please? I know that this is not for a typ3 but it is two years since I seek this part and that I do not find it.

I think, you mean the little 3-edge-window in the doors of every Coccinelle, Bully and Typ3? The german word for this window (Fenster) is: "Dreiecksfenster".

maybe you will find the "Dreiecksfenster", if you go in the internet to www.wagenteile.com , e-mail: info@wagenteile.com . This company sells new and used parts, so if he has the part not in stock, he will look on the market and ask some friends. I think, it will last 2 or 3 weeks for him, to get the part.

...and the small lights on the front wings are parking lights ( normaly ) .
With a red / white glas . They will shine if the turn signal switch is on and the ignition is off . Each in correspond to the side you chose with the indicator switch .
And for sure you can also place ads in englisch - no problem .

I have already go on SerialKombi but it's expansive.

Does someone could tell me when there happens a scholarship or concentration near the border?
I look on the forum but I do not know where these meetings.
